Jennifer Ray

Areas of Practice

Jennifer likes being an advocate for people, helping them find a way to resolve obstacles in their life. She recognizes that no one has to go to a lawyer and that the people that come to her genuinely need guidance and support. Jennifer is grateful to have the privilege to represent the people who come into our firm — while it is one case in the office, for the client, it is their life and she appreciates the faith they put in her. She firmly believes that people have a duty to be of service to those in need and being a lawyer gives her this opportunity daily.

Courts Admitted to Practice

Jennifer is licensed to practice law in the State of Missouri and in the United States District Court for the Western District of Missouri.

Education, Professional Associations and Recognition

While in law school at the University of Missouri at Kansas City (UMKC), Jennifer was a member of the UMKC Law Review and the Urban Lawyer. She was also selected to be a law school emissary. Jennifer received CALI awards (highest grade in the class) in Civil Procedure II, Missouri Civil Procedure, and Commercial Transactions. At graduation, she was a Women’s Council Graduate Award recipient and the Annette Moore Award recipient.

Personal Information

Jennifer Ray grew up in Creve Couer, Mo. She attended college at UMKC, where she obtained a bachelor’s degree in liberal arts, although she was initially enrolled in the school’s school of medicine for five years. Jennifer decided that her interests and talents were better suited to a career in law and entered law school at UMKC, graduating in 2012.

Jennifer decided to become a lawyer to help people. She feels that laws, ordinances, and rules affect daily life — but they themselves are not black and white — and becoming a lawyer was a way to effect those same laws, ordinances, and rules and make her own mark in the world.

Jennifer is married to Josh Ray and they have two children, J. W. and Jessica. They reside in St. Joseph. She enjoys playing sports like softball and basketball. Jennifer drives a Prius and continually strives to perfect her parking skills, as she finds it very difficult to park the Prius evenly within two striped lines.

Jennifer is a valued member of the firm. Her medical knowledge, work ethic, positive attitude and passion for justice have enabled her to make significant contributions to the cases we handle for our clients.
